All in the Family
All in the Family

Home repairs or replacements on your roofing, siding and windows are a serious commitment of both your time and your finances. No one understands that better than Chris Bruner, the owner of Cherry Hill’s American    Construction. As the third-generation head of the company, Bruner works with families in the area every day that are making this big decision.

“For most people this is the biggest expenditure of their life; greater than buying a car or even sending their kids to college,” says Bruner. “We take that into consideration, and we take that responsibility really seriously. In fact, we set our entire business model around the belief that our projects should be focused on educating our customer, building a relationship and developing long-term connections.”

American Construction is a family owned and run business, managed by Chris and his wife Jessica, who handles every financial and contractual aspect of the business. When Chris and Jessica took the company over from Jessica’s father, it was with the mission of strengthening those family qualities.

“We started with the idea that we wanted to provide an exceptionally high level of customer service for our neighbors. We wanted to provide the best materials and expert craftsmanship, and to also give our customers the support that means they can call us at any time.”

With that in mind, the Bruners hired a team of specialized professionals who have the experience and knowledge to reach that mission. The Bruners’ team includes operations manager Greg Dobson, a Vinyl Siding Installer (VSI)-certified, CertainTeed 5-star installer and his wife Molly, who leads the quality assurance department for the company.

Production manager Joe Gura is also a VSI-certified installer, with 40 years union experience in carpentry, including work on iconic Philadelphia buildings like 1 Liberty Place. VSI-certified project manager Cory McGrena is also a Hardie Fiber Cementcertified installer, while office manager Ryan Macuch rounds out the team as a 13-year Army veteran with a family background in construction.

This is just part of the team of trained, experienced professionals who are by your side from your initial no-obligation consultation onward.

“Our employees that come to your house on Day 1 are also installers, what we call in-home consultants,” says Bruner. “That person knows exactly what needs to be done on your roof, on your siding, gutters, windows, doors, everything. How else can they diagnose what’s wrong, if they don’t already know how to fix it?”

Every project comes with an OSHA-certified project manager who is trained in safe installation, LEAD Safe Certifications, and every job also receives a final stamp of approval from Bruner himself. And his team receives continued education, constantly going through training to stay up-to-date on the materials and techniques that are available.

American Construction customers speak for themselves, as the company has a five-star rating across Google, HomeAdvisor, GuildQuality, Yelp and more. Bruner says that most of their customers are referral-based.

“I couldn’t be happier with how everything went. They were very attentive from start to finish,” says customer Alex B. “I was kept very well-informed with everything going on, from when supplies were delivered to when the crew planned to start and finish. Their crew worked diligently and have fantastic workmanship. I would recommend American Construction to anyone, and will definitely have them doing more work to my home in the future.”

It’s this kind of relationship that Bruner and his team have built a business around. “We want every customer to have that mindset,” he says. “We will come to you and make sure you know exactly what is going in with this very serious investment. We take a lot of pride in our installations and the quality of our craftsmanship. We have the best people who work for us, which makes this such a great place to work. Our customers feel that when they meet with us and work with us.”
